Ladybug Party!

We decided to have a "bug" party in honor of the birthday girl, aka doodle bug, ladybug, and just plain ol' bug! I made the invitations. My special project! Thanks daddy for helping!

Here' comes the guest of honor...looking especially cute in her ladybug dress!

Posing with Nana and Great Grandpa Pendleton who came all the way from Indiana for the weekend. Kate was happy to meet him for the very first time!

Time for pinata. Kate needed a little help.

Mommy's friend, Melissa came with her daughter, Savannah, who is only 8 days older than Kate. They had fun playing together!

Here is the dirt cake that mommy made for the kids...it turned out pretty good, worms and all!

Mommy and daddy made a ladybug cake. Daddy had the special job of piping the icing and he did a GREAT job, don't you think?

It's time to blow out the candle. It really looks like she was blowing, but she got some help from her cousins!

Not really sure what she is supposed to do with this.

But she gets the hang of it in no time!

Sugar heaven! I knew she would love it!

Here Papa, there is enough to share!

Now that I'm all clean and had my wardrobe change, did someone say presents?

Wow, a bubble machine...

Thanks Savannah!

Now that's what I call a birthday party!

Thanks Luke and Michah for my stretch Elmo, he's the coolest. And I can't wait to listen to my new CD! Mimi got me my first pair of crocs and aunt Kim got me a pretty pair of sandals. I also got lots of $$ from Nana and Papa and Great Grandpa, and The Ondres for my savings account. Thanks everyone for a wonderful 1st Birthday!!

Lazy Days of Summer

We headed to the lake this weekend to see the family and to have Kate's official birthday party. Here are some pics of all the cousins. We had a hard time getting the whole gang into one picture for some reason!
Kate, Kira, Riley, Luke (Where's Micah)???

Oh, there he is...just preparing to do a back flip off of uncle Josh's shoulders!

Kate, Kira, and I rather lounge in the lake! Calllie the patrol dog!

Higher Luke!

Pretty girl Kira. She knows how to pose for the camera!

Happy Birthday to Kate!

Today was Kate's big 1st Birthday. Well we thought it was big anyway. She got a nice morning birthday visit from her pal across the street, Hannah. What a nice surprise!

She used her manners and read the card first, of course!

How did Hannah know Kate wanted a baby doll for her birthday?! Thanks Hannah!!

One more present to open before bed. Just in time too, we needed another book to read!
This is her, "I'm thrilled face", in case you can't tell!

A special thanks to Alie, we can't wait to go to Toys r Us and shop for a new present!

Happy Birthday big girl!!!

Music and Dinner

Every weekend a plaza near our house plays live music outside and we get to choose what to eat from several different restaurants within the plaza. Kate loves to come because there are always a gazillion kids running around with ice cream faces!! They must be playing daddy and Kate's song!

Finally...the big girl seat

Today I insisted that Daddy install the big girl car seat. Now I can drive just like mommy!

To put things into perspective...

Just to show you how big Kate has gotten...this is her new pal, Peyton (10 weeks old). Don't they look so comfy! Mimi likes to take them for a walk every day and today was extra tiring. BTW, excuse the little orphan annie outfit that Kate is wearing. I believe Mimi picked this number up from an antique store. It didn't stay on very long after I got home from work!

Kate loves to give Peyton kisses...every chance she gets. They're buds now. Practically BFF.

Memorial Day at Nana & Papa's lake house

We went to nana and papa's lake house for Memorial day weekend and Kate had her first boat ride. She loved riding in the boat and especially loved the wind in her face, just like her big sister, Callie!

Mommy decided to leave the swimming up to daddy. It was still too cold for her, but you can't tell by looking at the picture.

Kate wanted to play on the beach, but didn't really like the sand in her diaper. Once we took it off, that was all it took. She decided to see what it would be like if she were at a European lake.

Whew, all that boating and swimming makes me tired too. The boat ride home was the perfect time to catch some shut eye!
We can't wait until the next trip!!

Another try...

Kate is insisting that I give this blogging another try, and I just can't say no to that adorable face!!
We'll start off with her first photo shoot. I'm not winning mother of the year, since Kate is almost 1 and has never had her pictures professionally taken. Oh well, better late than never, right??!!
