Off to Asheville!!

Last weekend we took a trip to Asheville, NC to visit with the Zellers!! Jack was there and my oh my is he a cutie! We spent Saturday visiting with the family at Johnny and Daryll's house on the mountain...playing and popping bubbles!

Then we took a trip to their basement...and look what they had! These pictures don't quite do this train track justice. It had an entire room devoted to it, with lots of neat details and working parts that moved and lit up. On Sunday, we went into town to walk around the festival that was going on. It was hot, so Jack and Kate relaxed in their strollers with a glass of cold water.
We couldn't leave without a ride on the Merry-Go-Round...do you know the difference between a carousel and a merry-go-round? I learned it at my trip to the zoo. A carousel can have all kinds of different animals and a merry-go-round is only horses. Fun fact!

Bye-bye Asheville, Kate has left the building.

Riverbanks Zoo!

Today was our first family trip to the zoo. We thought it was time for Kate to see all the animals that she reads about in her books. It was a VERY hot day, but that didn't stop us from seeing all the animals 2 times. Since the first time around most of them were sleeping. Our first stop was the giraffes.
Next the elephants. She's pretending to be one with her trunk in the air!Her favorite was the aquarium. Where she got face to face with the fish. Although she wasn't too happy when the fish that were bigger than her came swimming by!
Making her very best fish face...He didn't move a muscle and yet she was facinated.We had to stop by and see the farm animals. She was a little scared of the cow...not sure why?
Who had more fun, Kate or Laura?
We made sure to stop by the endangered animals carousel. Her first carousel ride ever!
We can't wait to go back, maybe next time we'll go when it's a little cooler and earlier in the morning when the animals aren't so lazy!!
