Bath Buddies

Kate and Ben had their first bath together. All Kate wanted to do was cover him up with the wash cloth. Glad to know she is teaching him modesty! Needless to say bath time went great and it certainly helped me with multi-tasking...It will be even easier when Ben can sit up on his own.

Ben Who?

Josh and I realized that we have been slacking on the pictures since Ben has come along. I've set a new goal for myself to take a picture every day, even if we are just sitting around the house doing nothing...hence the picture below.

Resemblance?

What do you think? Do Kate and Ben look like brother and sister? Sometimes I see it and sometimes I don't. When it gets down to it, its all about the cheeks!!

KATE~isms

I've decided that it would be a shame not to document all the cute things that come out of Kate's mouth. I can't wait to hear what she'll say next. Sometimes it's funny...even when it's not suppose to be (I have to turn my head so she doesn't see me laughing), and sometimes it's just too darn cute.
It is amazing that

a) she remembers the tiniest details from days/weeks/months ago

b) she can speak so clearly now, we hardly need to provide translations to outsiders anymore

Also, she is a major copycat. I have to be careful what I say all the time. Even with things that I don't think are bad. For example, when I get frustrated, I say "come-on!" and "are you kidding me!" Not so bad, right?...Wrong!! It's not good when a 2 year old gets frustrated because she can't get her shirt off over her head and growls, "COME ON!!" Which is so funny because I never growl it, so she knows to use it when she is frustrated.

So here are some cute and funny things this 2 year old spouts off:

1. i not tired mommy - immediately after she lets out the biggest yawn known to man-kind.

2. one mo' time - this can't be said without holding her pointer up and squatting slightly for dramatic effect.

3. pooter - as in "i just need to do sompthin on the pooter mommy." Because computer is really too much to say.

4. mim (meem) - as in "love you mim." again, Mimi would just require too much effort.

5. He's got mickey in him - pointing out that Ben's onsie has Mickey Mouse on it.

The other day Ben was crying on the big ottoman and Kate went over and gently rubbed his head, kissed his cheek and said, "don't worry baby Ben, it's ok", then she looked at me and said, "baby Ben wants his bear......I'll get it!" And she did. She even hung around to entertain him for a little while. She adores her little brother. I'm soaking all the sweetness up, because I know when he becomes mobile, that sweetness is bound to minimize!

...but for now, I love to hear her say, "I love you Benny boo boo boo."

Stay tuned for more Kate~isms...

Catching Up

Man, what a slacker! After having 2 kids and being home for the last 3 months with them, I decided that I need to start this blog up again. There have been too many fun moments to share and rather than keep a journal, a baby book, and attempt to blog, I'll just keep the blog up to date and call it a day!

Lots has happened since the last blog back in January! A quick recap so we can get back on track.
1. Josh, Kate and I were sealed at the Atlanta temple in March. Amazing experience, I couldn't contain myself when Kate walked into the room with her little white dress on. She is my angel.

2. Family vacay in April to Lake Anna, VA with Anna and her brood. What a relaxing and beautiful weekend. We had 3 kids and it couldn't have been more relaxing...doesn't sound right, does it?! I hope we can make this an annual thing.

3. Ben came May 28. My little boo bear! Well he's not so little. He weighed 16.8 at his last appointment on 9.8.09. It's all in those cheeks!

4. Kate turned 2 on June 16th. She had a Mickey Mouse party outside. The day was blazing hot, but the pool and slip-n-slide helped cool the kids off. The poor parents were not so fortunate.

5. I'm offically back to work since 9/8/09. Adjusting to waking up and having to presentable so early in the morning, but it's not as hard as I thought it would be.

Throw in some trips to Nana and Papa's, a visit from Michele with a day at Lazy 5 Ranch, Easter, Kate's first snowman and strawberry picking and you're all caught up... I know, shame on me for slacking these last 8 months, but I'm getting use to juggling my time here so be patient with the new mom of 2.
